SPECIAL TRAITS & LESSONS
SPECIAL TRAITS & LESSONS

Now we'll look at your name with respect to the number of times that the same number repeats, or when certain numbers fail to be represented in your name. The repetition of numbers may show special talents that you possess. The absence of numbers suggests an issue relating to the nature of the number. Some numerologists suggest that the absence of a number reflects a karmic debt carried over from a previous lifetime. The norm in distribution of numbers in the name is somewhat hazy because some names are very short and others are very long. The average name has 15 to 19 letters in it. If this is you, then the following averages should work for you:

The number:
1
2
3
4
5
6
7
8
9
Average occurrence is:
3
1
2
1
4
2
1
1
3
My name has:
3
0
5
5
2
0
0
1
3

If your name is significantly longer or shorter than 15-19 letters, you must make adjustments accordingly. Now, make a count of each of the numbers in your name. I have used my full name below to set up the above example:

D A V I D M I C H A E L M c C L A I N

4 1 4 9 4 4 9 3 8 1 5 3 4 3 3 3 1 9 5

As you can see, I have the average number of 1s, 8s, and 9s. I have more than the average 3s and 4s, and I have fewer than average 2s, 5s, 6s, and 7s.

Be aware that if a missing or less than average number is represented in the subject's core numbers (the Life Path, Expression, or Soul Urge), the karmic deficiency is diminished, if not completely eliminated. For example, if an individual did not have the number 5 in her name, but her Life Path number was 5, she would have little difficulty handling the deficiency shown by the absence of the number.

Here are my delineations of each of the numbers as they would reflect average occurrence, and fewer, or more than average occurrence in a name:

1

Average. With 3 ones in your name, it appears you have sufficient leadership skills, initiative, and ample individuality to get along fine in life.

No 1s or fewer than average. With few or no ones in your name, you may find it hard to stand up for your rights and leadership may be a very difficult trait for you to develop.

More than average 1s. With more than the expected number of ones in your name, you may be very headstrong and even overly assertive in your will to lead. Avoid being too quick to demand your own way.

2

Average. You have a normal and natural desire and ability to associate with others. You are tactful and diplomatic enough to get along fine in the world. Cooperation is no problem for you.

No 2s. You lack patience with people and you may be insensitive sometimes because of this. Cooperation is a trait that must be learned.

Many 2s. You're very considerate of others and have a flair for compromise. Harmony and agreement making may be a major career advantage. You are faithful and adaptable, even to the extent of giving too much. You have a significant appreciate of the arts.

3

Average. If you have a pair of 3s in your name, your imagination and creative talents most likely are in the normal range. You express ideas and feeling with natural ways. Although you may not be described as the life of the party, you know how to have fun and enjoy good company.

No 3s or less than average. This doesn't say that you are dull, but it does suggest that you may have to be stimulated into enjoying yourself. You are not a romantic and one to base decisions of fanciful ideas. Creative ideas may be rare. Of course, if you have a 3 Life Path, Expression, or Soul Urge, this may not be such a problem.

Many 3s. You have more than your fair share of creative talent. You have the kind of imagination that makes you special in music, painting, writing, design, or other artistic endeavors. Indeed, you may tend to scatter yourself a bit at times. You have a "gift for gab," and express yourself well.

4

Average. If you have at least one 4 in your name, your ability to concentrate and apply yourself to a task will allow you to get along well in the world much of the time. The number 4 gives us common sense and the desire to build or develop things. The number 4 needs order and structure.

No 4s or less than average. If there is no 4 in your name, you will not likely be famous for your common sense and focus on mundane tasks. This trait will be well hidden if you have the number 4 as one of the core numbers, but if this is not the case, you may be a very unstructured and disorganized person. The concept of steady building and developing will be something that you must learn the hard way.

Many 4s. If you have more than the average of one 4 in your name, your ability to engage yourself in concrete plans will be a strong trait. You know the value of things and have the willingness to work toward long range goals. You understand details and respect law and order. You may tend to become too rigid and narrow in your thinking.

5

Average. If you have the average of four 5s in your name, you enjoy the human trait of having change and variety in your life, at least to a normal degree. You get along well in day-to-day public contact with the world, and adjust to meeting new people, travel, progress, and all of the changes that are part of living.

No 5s or less than average. It is very unusual to have no 5s in a name. If you if you have less than the average number of 5s, you may have a varying degree of difficulty meeting and dealing with people. You will not feel at ease in a crowd, and indeed, you will want to be left alone much of the time. A limitation of 5s makes it hard to face changes. Hopefully, this number will appear in your core so that this absence will merely be viewed as introspection.

Many 5s. With 5 or more 5s, you may have a very restless nature needing much stimulation. It may be hard to apply yourself to any one project because you tend to get too many things going on at the same time. If this number become too heavy in a name, there is a lessening of attention to detail and less respect for law and order. Properly channeled, this excess of 5s aids salesmanship and promotion.

6

Average. The average of two 6s produces normal instincts to protect and cultivate those close to us and even in the larger community. The traits inherent to 6 yield caretakers, teachers, caring parents, and responsible citizens. The number 6 stands for responsibility and nurturing.

No 6s or less than average. With just one 6 or with a name not containing a 6, your sense of duty to those around you is not strong. Indeed, the sense of obligation to fix the world is not strong in many of us. In daily living, the absence of 6s suggests a certain detachment, and problems large and small are handled without becoming very emotional or concerned. Parenting is often too loose and less than demanding.

Many 6s. A more than average number of 6s in the name produces strongly possessed beliefs and emotions. Ideals are strongly held and seldom surrendered. Your humanitarian spirit and sense of generosity may be outstanding traits in your nature. But your leadership and parenting may be too strict and unyielding sometimes. Loyalty is often consider an absolute necessity. Traditions are strong.

7

Average. The average of one 7 gives the abilities to analyze, investigate, and learn easily. You have a questioning mind which stimulates reading, study, observation and development of the mind. You have the ability to question and discriminate constructively.

No 7s. The qualities of the 7 are missing in many names making the mysteries of life more difficult to understand and grasp. Without a 7 in your name, you may be less cautious, less analytic, and perhaps not the top of the class when it comes to study. You are less apt to be overly skeptical and demanding of those around you.

Many 7s. If you are that rare individual who has many 7s in your name, it may be said that you "dance to a different drummer." Your mind is highly scientific and proof oriented. You take nothing on faith. Many of your ideas will be considered odd and out of step with most of the world around you. Emotions are very controlled.

8

Average. If you have the average of at least one 8, you are generally businesslike and self-sufficient in your affairs. You have average abilities to lead, direct and control others if you choose to develop these traits. With an 8 in your name, you can weigh and balance. Business, management, supervising people, and managing money are traits shown by the number 8.

No 8s. Without an 8 in your name it will be more difficult to manage and direct even your own personal affairs. Power, wealth, and leadership roles in life may not be your primary goal. Yet you are apt to suffer less stress because of your attitudes about these issues.

Many 8s. With 2 or more 8s you may have an intensity in your nature that drives toward power and control of others. You have a strong drive to accomplish, work, guide and command. Life may hold many tests and be frustrating at times, but the rewards can be high. Be aware of the stress in your life.

9

Average. With the average three 9s (or perhaps with only 2) in your name, you have the sense of compassion, goodwill, and tolerance for your fellow man that is necessary to live in our complicated world. The number 9 is associated with mankind and brotherhood. It produces our willingness to accept different races, colors, religions, and beliefs, and life comfortably in our environment. There is a spiritual understanding and acceptance that is normal and healthy.

No 9s or only one 9 in your name. The lack of 9s in the name, though rare, makes it hard to understand and accept others that are different. There is little feeling of universal or spiritual connection.

Many 9s. With many 9s in your name you may be overly sensitive to the world and become an idealist in some aspect of society. You may be generous to a fault. You may take such issues as religion or philosophy to an extreme.

self-forgiveness as one of the acts of life that fills experience with purpose

self-forgiveness as one of the acts of life that fills experience with purpose

The following discussion focuses on self-forgiveness as one of the acts of life that fills experience with purpose. It brings love to a place where it wasn't before and transforms the spot by bringing a different fulfillment.

self-forgiveness as one of the acts of life that fills experience with purpose

When we do self-forgiveness, the channel that opens up is inside. We initiate a channel from the basic self through the high-self. Through that channel, we stand in the light and reconcile our belief with the truth of self. In essence, we align with the Holy Spirit and declare to the basic self that the limiting belief or separation is discontinued and replaced with essence of virtue it was blocking. For example, you may forgive yourself for believing you are unlovable. By so doing, you tell the basic self to align with your innate loving as an internal and transcendental source.

The sense that the energy is outside comes from the awareness that the source of transformation is outside the system of the belief, which is the self-concept, or status-quo. The transformative energy is embedded in our depth. In quantum fashion, when we forgive ourselves the inner and outer source act as one. The self-forgiveness tells the basic self to change and invites the high-self to transform the limitation. This action communicates a change in our relationship to the unconditional love that is God. This changes the way we are nested in the personal and universal field. The self-forgiveness changes how our consciousness is nested in the One. So the transformational energy is outside and inside of us. A simple movement of the heart, like kindness, has a similar effect. It is a technique. It is also a remembrance of self. We re-place our selves into the givingness of self that preceded the taking from self.

This section is extracted from Robert D. Waterman's book
Self-forgiveness, an Act of Life (1976).

Though the temptation is there to think of self-forgiveness as a technique, it does not function so in practical application. The concept will be developed by elaborating on fifteen qualities of self-forgiveness.

1. The deepest tendency within humankind is toward balance and growth. All urges, needs, desires, and accomplishments somehow stem from our own archetype seeking to fulfill itself.

2. Whether the individual works with or against those deepest tendencies is a matter of choice. Humankind rules his life by choice and in experience man dramatizes who he is. Regardless of age he will meet situations and subdue or be subdued by them according to the meaning structure through which he perceives the events. He may alter what was already known in order to adapt, or move blindly in the face of his own darkness. The choice is an expression of love and will.

3. Situations in themselves are not imbalancing; our response, the meaning we impute, the choice we make, can imbalance. Any experience represents an opportunity for growth and any situation we encounter has the potential to integrate or dissociate our ability to live from our inner vitality.

4. Though we may not be able to change past situations, we can change the meaning we carry within us regarding those events. Although an experience is in the past, we can relive the experience in the present and change the meaning we made out of the experience. Recall, in itself, is not enough. The interrupting experience must be transformed. We can change our mind and as we do, the pain evoked reactivates the inducing mental-emotional judgment, releasing both as the pattern becomes conscious. As these patterns are systematically released, the natural flow of life-force through the body is reestablished, as well as mental, physical, and emotional well-being.

5. Choice always involves three components: thought, emotion, and action : symbol, energy, and direction : love, will, and consequence. We cannot avoid choice. Abdication of choice is a choice. As we cannot avoid choice, we cannot avoid responsibility. The understanding of the self is acquired through experience. The process of acquiring is perfect in the beginning and always will be. The step called mistake is in a sequence which is a perfect process of experimental discovery. If we attach our identity to the mistake, we are in effect a mistake. After a while our identification as mistake rather than a maker-of-mistakes leads us to the philosophical conclusion that we have no power to alter that conclusion. Our ability to create is blurred by identifying with the mistake. We lose the ability to recycle our mistakes through the "purifying fires" of the Higher Mind. To fear to act because we may be wrong is the greatest wrong because we abdicate our "dominion" and our "inward kingdom" which results in our outward domain falling to external forces and controls. We narrow our conscious awareness to a small realm of threatening shadows.

6. Cause and effect have in each life a historical pattern of connectedness and are woven and re-woven through individual understanding of its symbol, energy and direction.

7. The reference, or locus, for the natural tendency within humankind for balance and growth is within. It is hard to imagine the potential for creative human influence when individuals recognize the degree of inner authority that can be exercised. The locus of intellect and love within us is far deeper than we perform -- it is at the depth that we are a Being that is one with the Father-Mother principle, and yet still deeper, the unmanifested Source. In this Higher Self reference we so loved the possibility of ourselves that we created a begotten personality as an instrument of growth and change so that we might understand our eternality, and thus live consciously in our eternal perception as co-creators with the Divine.

8. Each choice, large or small, has an effect (a consequence) of either moving a personality closer to his or her deeper being or further away.

9. Self-forgiveness is a choice with an outcome of greater cooperation with the inherent, internal tendency toward balance and growth. When in response to circumstances we create self-pity, injury, fear, grudges, etc, we deny to ourselves the use of a great resource, presence intellect and power from within us. Divine love is unconditional and ever forgiving and is available to us directly through the Higher Consciousness. When we attach ourselves to an external reference through judgment, we block the consciousness of redeeming love and super-conscious wisdom from our use. When we relive the energy and symbol that blocked us and forgive ourselves, the Divine Balance is allowed to enter our personality and establish the same condition in our personality world that exists in our higher consciousness world.

10. The activation of self-forgiveness is enhanced or impeded by group-process.

11. Self-forgiveness is as effective as it is sincere; yet, is activated according to the individual ability level. Sincerity is a skill. You may be at a level of sincerity and tell me that you will do this or that, yet in ten minutes you may have grown in sincerity and discover that in reference to now you lied, yet it seemed true then. If you take on guilt or try to justify the discrepancy you will lose the gain you made. However, if you confront your lie and take action to fully utilize the gain, the lie becomes a positive action and moves into a corrective law. We may re-experience a distorted moment and forgive ourselves and release much.

12. Self-forgiveness is a conscious choice, a subconscious realization and a higher -consciousness acceptance (It is not a belief). Self-forgiveness is not a belief -- it is a knowing and as such our choice and statement places it as an active element within us. When we re-experience the past and choose consciously to change, corollary patterns occur subconsciously and super-consciously. There is a realization of the impact of the conscious choice: the experience of release and change of meaning is recorded in place of the old interpretation. Super-consciously new vistas present themselves to the conscious mind. Reprogramming can change patterns in the subconscious mind through repetitious affirmation -- but self-forgiveness changes the patters in the subconscious mind through direct intervention of the Higher Self.

13. Self-forgiveness is spontaneous in people who have gained the ability to relate to the unity of life with the entirety of their being. Even though we may be self-realized beings and all our conscious levels are highly synthesized, we are still here, still growing, and still confronted with choices and mistaken choices. The difference is that when our growth is more progressive than evolutionary, realization of the mistakenly applied energy is sufficient to release it. Release and understanding, both act and consequence, become spontaneous.

14. Self-forgiveness carries the implication that all events are purposeful and ultimately worthwhile. If self-forgiveness allows us to claim an understanding that we did not possess before, then the purpose of difficulty is to solve that difficulty, to understand, to extend and expand the ability level of our Soul -- it seems that all souls are equal in their perfection but not in their ability level. In this context, we conceive that we have never done anything that was not worthwhile. We were always worthy in in ourselves; it was the belief in attachment to error that created a sensation of unworthiness. When the sense of inherent worthiness returns, growth accelerates and balance is enhanced. Our quest is to learn to use our inherent worth to master life.

15. Self-forgiveness is economical - the best use of human energy that can be made out of any event, for experience is only wasteful when it is not used for growth, for greater understanding; we are wasteful to the degree we are ego-attached to our mistakes. There is a moral imperative in the understanding of energy and its exchange and perhaps the only moral imperative: "Unto thyself be true"; THYSELF -- not the belief patterns of the mind that masquerade as self. The personality is a garment, a vehicle by which our Being might enter the real of Earth to gain the wisdom thereof. It is to the Being that we are true. There is no dogma to re-alignment of the personality -- mind, emotion, and body -- with the Soul and Spirit, only self-forgiveness. We hold within us a vision of what we could be and an image of what we are -- how we handle this discrepancy is crucial.

"As a man who has devoted his whole life to the most clear headed science to the study of matter, I can tell you as a result of my research about atoms this much. There is no matter as such. All matter originates and exists only by virtue of a force, which brings the particles of an atom to vibration and holds this most minute solar system of the atom together.

We must assume behind this force the existence of a conscious and intelligent mind. This mind is the matrix of all matter"

why would they look? Maybe they swim in God as they swim the ocean.

Music: Universal Language

Music: Universal Language Music: Universal Language

Music occupies an important place in our daily lives. When we draw an analogy between music and sport, in the sense that they both involve practice and performance, we get a clearer picture of who we are, and of the social, moral and aesthetic values that guide our existence.

Picture yourself sitting lazily in a lounge bar, having your favorite drink along with few of your friends. You let off few jokes, discuss the latest news and trends and let your soul and body relax from the everyday style of urban working. Now imagine all this without music! Feel out of place? I bet you do. Even if you don’t recall a single melody or flow of notes, still your subconscious has been catching all the music played in the background. Slowly easing and swaying to the rhythm, you enjoy the atmosphere that is created around.

Music is called the universal language of the world because of many reasons. First and the foremost, music is made up of 7 main notes. No matter, what part of the world you are, and what instrument you play, all the music created are one of the 7 notes. There may be different names for all 7 notes in different parts of the world, but for the performer, they are still the same. Secondly music, being a form of art can reach the deepest parts of your heart and soul. You don’t have to be a patient or a psychologist to understand music. As long as any melody and rhythm make you feel yourself, it is the best doctor a person can find, and best remedy anyone can recommend. Thirdly music, like any other language can express any and every type of emotion. But where it scores more is where the words fell short of expressing, while music can go on and on vocalizing all that you ever want to say.

Music therapy is even effective on animals and plants. There have been studies carried and research done on this and findings show that plants and trees that grow in company of good music show a growth percentage much more than normal ones that live without the aid of music. Animals too, reflect their behavioral pattern much better when exposed to music.

Music has evolved along with man and it’s civilization. Old cultures like India, China and some parts of Middle East have a very long history of civilization and their music is far more intricate and complex and some of their western counterparts. For e.g. in India, there are 2 main forms of music, distinct in its tonic quality and geographical location. If we combine these forms, we have more than 300 scales (combination and playing style of the 7 notes). Different scale and style of play portray different mood. Even these scales can be used in free form to someone who know the in and out of such a music form. But in some parts of the world, there are only 2 main scales (major and minor) on which all of their music is based.

Music: God’s Universal Language

If we can feel that It is not our voice, Not our fingers, But some reality deep inside our heart Which is expressing itself, Then we will know that it is The soul’s music. The outer music Comes from an outer instrument. The inner music Comes from the heart. The name of this inner music Is oneness.

Music is the inner or universal language of God. I do not know French or German or Italian. But if music is played, immediately the heart of the music enters into my heart, or my heart enters into the music. At that time, we do not need outer communication; the inner communion of the heart is enough. My heart is communing with the heart of the music and in our communion we become inseparably one.

In the spiritual world, next to meditation is music, the breath of music. Meditation is silence, energising and fulfilling. Silence is the eloquent expression of the inexpressible. Aldous Huxley says: “After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.”

Silence is the source of everything. It is the source of music and it is music itself. Silence is the deepest, most satisfying music of the Supreme.

Silence is like a stream that goes to one place and becomes a river, or to another place and becomes a brook, or to the sea where it is totally expanded.

Silence is the nest and music is the bird. The bird leaves the nest early in the morning and returns to the nest in the evening. Similarly, in the spiritual world, divine music comes from the inmost soul of silence.

Soulful Music

Soulful music immediately awakens and inspires our hearts because it embodies the Absolute Supreme. Soulful music is the Light that wants to express itself in a divine way. Even as darkness wants to manifest its authority on earth, Light also wants to manifest its Reality and Divinity in a specific way. Light is the soul of everything. Light is the soul of music, Light is the soul of love and Light is the soul of all art. When Light divinely manifests itself in the form of music, it is the music of the soul.

Music means Self-expansion and oneness. The Self expands through music. The Self that expands is not the individual self but the unlimited Self. Music is the expansion of unlimited Reality.

We can use music to help us in our spiritual life provided we know that music and the spiritual life are like twin brothers; we cannot separate them. How can we separate two fingers, two eyes? They sit side Soulful music is the Light that wants to express itself in a divine wayby side. If one eye is not functioning well, then we feel that our vision is imperfect. Similarly, music and the spiritual life must go together; one complements the other. Music helps the spiritual seeker to go deep within to get the utmost satisfaction from life, from truth, from reality. The spiritual life, in turn, helps music to offer its capacity and its strength, which is the soul’s light, to the world at large.

When we listen to soulful music, or when we ourselves play soulful music, immediately our inner existence climbs up high, higher, highest. It climbs up and enters into something beyond. This Beyond is constantly trying to help us, guide us, mould us and shape us into our true transcendental image, our true divinity. When we hear soulful music, or when we play a soulful piece of music, we feel a kind of inner thrill in our entire existence, from the soles of our feet to the crown of our head. A river is flowing through us, a river of consciousness, and this consciousness is all the time illumined.

Music and Meditation

Next to deep prayer or meditation, music is of paramount importance. Meditation is like a direct route, or shortcut, to the goal. Music is a road that is absolutely clear: it may be a little longer, but it is quite clear of obstacles. If we can play soulful music or hear soulful music, the power of our meditation increases. Soulful music adds to our aspiration. Similarly, if a spiritual seeker wants to be a musician, even if he does not have a musical background, he will be able to be a good musician because prayer and meditation contain all capacities. You may never have studied music, but if you pray and meditate soulfully, then inside your prayer, inside your meditation, by the Grace of the Supreme, the power of music looms large. Then you can utilise this power in your own way.

Each time soulful music is played, we get inspiration and delight. In the twinkling of an eye, music can elevate our consciousness. But if we also pray and meditate, then we are undoubtedly more illumined and fulfilled than a music-lover who is not consciously leading a spiritual life. Each spiritual musician is consciously spreading God’s Light on earth. God is the cosmic Player, the eternal Player, and we are His instruments. It is the Supreme who makes the proper instrument. Then, it is He who makes the player play properly, and it is He who makes the musician.

The Power of Music

Soulful and spiritual music really helps us; it feeds our inner life. Music has tremendous power. With fire we can burn ourselves, or we can cook and do many other good things. It is the same with music. Divine music immediately elevates our consciousness, whereas undivine music immediately lowers our consciousness and tries to destroy our sincere inner cry for a better spiritual life. The spiritual person will immediately be affected by this music. So music can change our consciousness provided it is the music that comes from the heart and enters into the heart. The music that touches the very depth of our heart can elevate our consciousness.

The Mind and the Senses

Our senses are restless. Therefore, our mind suffers. Our mind is doubtful. Therefore, our senses suffer. The mind has no capacity to bind or discipline the senses. Here music comes to the mind’s rescue. With the help of music, the mind binds and disciplines the senses and makes them into perfect instruments so they can be inundated with peace, light and bliss from above.

Again, when the mind is doubtful, when the mind drinks deep of doubt-poison, the senses have no capacity to inject faith into the mind. Here also music comes to the rescue. The senses take help from music to transform and illumine themselves. When the senses are calm and quiet, the doubtful mind is totally transformed and it becomes inseparably one with the heart, which is all receptivity. At that time our Inner Pilot—the Supreme Musician—can manifest Himself blessingfully, powerfully and measurelessly. As He is manifesting Himself in and through us, the divine music becomes part and parcel of our existence and we grow into perfect Perfection. In and through us the Supreme Musician creates a new world. We become the divine music, and a new vision of God’s transcendental Reality operates in and through us.

Can spiritual music be played during meditation?

Certainly, although it depends on the one who meditates. There are many seekers on earth who meditate extremely well, but who have not developed their musical sense. Their ears have not been trained, so we cannot expect them to change their nature overnight. They either lack the capacity of appreciation or they have some austere feeling about music. Psychic music is not very widely appreciated, and very few people appreciate the soul’s music. They feel it is like a stranger that is entering into their consciousness. But it is actually their eternal tenant, their soul, that is deep within them waiting to come to the fore.

If divine music is played during deep meditation, it enhances the meditation. It will immediately help in elevating the consciousness. If you are fond of music, then playing soulful songs or chants during your meditations at home will definitely help you.

Were we to play spiritual music on tape while we slept, would it benefit us in any way?

While you are sleeping if you play soulful music, your subtle vital, subtle physical and subtle mind will enjoy it. But your physical body may find it difficult to appreciate it, for it wants total silence. Although soulful music will add to pure silence, inner silence, the physical body wants a kind of silence which is totally devoid of outer sound.

If you play your tape very softly, it will definitely help and inspire the subtle physical and subtle vital which are not sleeping.

Many, many times when the physical sleeps, the subtle physical and the subtle vital do not sleep. They move around. They roam here and there. They visit their friends and enemies. My music is definitely a source of joy to them. So for the subtle physical, subtle vital and subtle mind, undoubtedly it is a help. But for the gross physical which is trying to sleep, it may be a hindrance, a disaster.

What is the supreme duty of an artist or musician?

The supreme duty of an artist or musician is to meditate before he creates something and, while creating, to be in a very contemplative, divine mood. Then, when the creation is completed, he will immediately offer his creation to the Supreme. No matter what others say about his creation, no matter what his feelings are about his own creation, as soon as his creation is completed, he will offer it to the Supreme for Him to use in His own way. This is the supreme duty of the spiritual musician or artist.

Is creativity another form of meditation?

It depends on what you are creating. If it is spiritual art or music, then certainly it is a form of meditation. But if you play undivine music or write unbearable books or keep your mind in the gutter while you are painting, this is not any kind of meditation. While you are creating, if your consciousness is in the lower vital world, it will not be a form of meditation. But if you are singing something soulful or if you are in a very high consciousness while you are creating, if you are giving yourself in a divine way to the object or subject that you are involved with, then definitely you are doing a form of meditation. You have to know what you are creating and where your consciousness is while you are doing it.

I am giving a lot of importance to aspiring through music.

There is nothing wrong if you feel aspiration in your music. But you have to know how many hours you can think of your music. If you spend five hours, six hours, seven hours a day on music, then you should spend one hour or two hours, let us say, on spirituality. Music is also a form of spirituality; I do not deny it. But the height that you will achieve from meditation either you may not get or cannot get from your music. Music is an added help.

If you can play spiritual music, soulful music, then you will have no problem in your life. But if you play only mundane music, then you may not be satisfied. You may be pleasing the outer world, but you are not pleasing your Inner Pilot in His own way. If you are not an aspiring seeker, that is fine. But if you are a sincere seeker, then you will feel miserable.

When I play music, I feel a tingling around my third eye.

That indicates an awakening. But this does not mean that your third eye is about to open. No. When you play most soulfully, an inner vision-light will come to the fore. Vision is within you, yet it is dormant. But now it wants to function properly; it does not want to sleep anymore. So inner vision is starting to operate. The vision of the third eye is trying to come to the fore, and that is why you are getting that sensation. It is a very good experience.

What is the soundless sound, and can it serve as a bridge between the manifest and the unmanifest worlds?

As it stands now the outer world is not at all aware of the inner world. So first the outer world has to be fully aware of the inner world, and then it has to listen to the blessingful dictates of the inner world. Then the soundless sound—which is now heard only by very, very few Truth-seekers and God-lovers—can be of divine service to mankind. It is an inner discovery. This discovery has to be brought to the fore, and for that the outer world has to be consciously awakened and devotedly accept the beauty and divinity of the inner world.

The soundless sound is something real, absolutely real. But we hear it only in our highest realm of consciousness, or when we dive deep within and reach the inmost recesses of our heart. The soundless sound is infinitely, infinitely more powerful than any man-made sound. But up to now, it has been operating only in the inner world. So those who have a free access to the inner world can hear this sound. Not only do they derive tangible benefit from this sound, but it helps the seekers and God-lovers immensely in their self-giving life to God the Creator and God the creation.

O music of love,
From you I learn

The secret of closeness.

O music of will,

From you I learn

The secret of future creation.

O music of silence,

From you I learn

The secret of universal oneness.

O music of surrender,

From you I learn

The secret of cosmic perfection.

How many songs have I sung?
How many more have I still to sing

Here on earth?

Within and without

I have been searching for myself

Through my songs.

With deep pangs my heart cries;

My self-form is not visible yet.

In the vast life-ocean,
I am floating all alone.

You are nothing but beauty, eternal beauty,

Wherever I turn my eyes.

Do You always drink the nectar
Of Your Self-Form Residing in my eyes?
The waves of tune
And sweet and melodious songs
That create heart-elevating resonance,

O Beloved, do You hear them
By using my ears?

No matter how much evolved a form of music is or how sophisticated it’s approach, music touches everyone’s soul. If you do not connect to any music, you probably are losing a part of yourself. Let’s celebrate this form of art with a quote by Shakespeare, "If music be the food of life, play on".

Music varies from one society to another. A means of communication, the rules that govern it and the environment in which it is produced are specific to each society.

Our personal nature and the knowledge we acquire from our surroundings determine our interest in this art form. These cultural values influence our perception and understanding of music, and allow us to decode the symbolic messages it can convey and to derive a certain pleasure from listening to it.

"Moksha", the Salvation

 "Moksha", the Salvation...

"Moksha", the Salvation...

There is energy, a very huge energy, which cannot be seen but can just be felt, and can be called, the Spiritual Ocean. That is unique. Soul is a drop in that Ocean. Think about a normal terrestrial ocean. It has got some characteristics. It tastes salty, it jumps lively and it is unconquerable.

Due to some external forces the droplets in the ocean sometimes change their shapes as vapor. They hang as a cloud in the sky experiencing totally a different feel, which is never felt by those droplets when they were with ocean. Those droplets forget the salty nature, the way they used to jump lively and the feel of invincibility they had when they were with ocean. Now they have a feel of insecurity, hanging in the sky with no support to depend.

As the time progresses the droplets in the form of cloud or vapor, change their shape once again by liquefying and fall on the ground.

Some droplets in vapor form, which locate themselves in the direction of the wind that blows towards ocean, fall directly into the ocean and thus they return their place soon. Some droplets in vapor form, which locate themselves in the direction of the wind that blows towards river, fall directly into the river and thus they take a little time to merge into ocean after an incessant restless journey. Some droplets in vapor form, which locate themselves in the direction of the wind that blows towards rocky land, fall on rocks and it takes more time for them to merge in ocean after crossing the phase of vaporization, becoming a cloud again and locating themselves in the direction of the wind that blows towards ocean. Some droplets in vapor form, which locate themselves in the direction of the wind that blows towards soil, fall directly on the soil and sinks deeper into dark and thus it takes more and more time for them to vaporize from underground, to turn as a cloud and to fall in ocean locating themselves in the direction of the wind that blows towards ocean.

Similarly the souls from the spiritual ocean change their state because of external forces, attractions and many other tendencies and turned as human bodies changing their shapes from childhood to old age just like the clouds change their shapes from time to time. As the time flows on, death hits the souls in body form as if the wind hits the droplets that are in vapor form.

The souls with complete spiritual bent with no terrestrial desires drop into spiritual ocean, which otherwise can be termed as ‘moksha’, the salvation. The souls with half-hearted spirituality with half conviction and half bent towards spirituality take a birth once again wherein it takes a little time to that soul to merge into the ocean of spirituality, as if a few droplets in vapor form drop in river as told above. The souls with terrestrial desires which it deserves and which are positive in manner, take a birth once again which gives a little pain to fulfill the desires, as if the droplets fall on rocky lands when wind hits them. The souls with no maturity, more terrestrial desires which are bad, whose deeds are bad and whose thoughts are vague and confused take a birth which is more painful and which takes a very long time to merge into Spiritual Ocean, as if the droplets dropped on the land of soil and immersed. They experience darkness, suffocation, heat and many other sinister feelings.

Every phase discussed above is a training platform to mould oneself to reach the Spiritual Ocean, which is ultimate.
